This website is run by Afronerd Media, the makers of The Book of Nehemiah, an Afrobeat musical film. This page explains what we keep when you use the forms on this site, why, and how to have it removed. Questions: support@afronerdmedia.com.

Notify me

When you sign up for news, we keep:

We use it only to send you news about the film, its music and its screenings. We don’t sell it, and we don’t give it to advertisers.

Challenge entries

If you enter one of our challenges (the Bandits Challenge or the #TheRoadBegins Dance Challenge), we keep what you put in the entry form: your name, email, social handle, post link, your answers to the age and terms questions, and the files you upload. We use them to run and judge the challenge, to contact you about your entry, and for the uses you agreed to in the entry terms. Our team gets an email alert for each finished entry, and may download entries to prepare them for posting.

People’s Choice voting

When you vote, we email you a one-time code to confirm it. We use your email address only to send that code. We don’t keep the address itself. We keep:

We use these only to count votes and to remove fake ones. The code email is sent for us by Resend, an email delivery service. The “I’m not a robot” check is run by Cloudflare Turnstile. We delete the voting records once the result has been announced and any checks are finished.

Where it’s kept

Signups and entries are kept in private storage at Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site. They are not public, and only the Afronerd Media team can see them.

How long we keep it

We keep your signup until you unsubscribe or the film’s campaign ends. We keep challenge entries for as long as we need them for the challenge and the uses you agreed to.

Your choices

To unsubscribe, or to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you, email support@afronerdmedia.com from the address you used, and we’ll take care of it.

Cookies and other services

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or follow you to other sites. It tells us which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world from, and which site sent you (for example YouTube). This site doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add advertising measurement, we’ll update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, and Cloudflare handles every visit to deliver the site. Our listen pages link out to music services and play YouTube videos only after you press play; those services have their own privacy policies.
